I first met Robert Bruce many years ago, when he was financial adviser to the advertising firm at which I was employed. His advice then – that it is better for employees in advertising to have a retirement annuity rather than a company pension, because the rate of changing jobs in advertising is quite high and people never accumulate a good pension – was sound. Even long after leaving that specific company, I have continued with Robert to advise on my financial affairs and have now reached pensionable age, owning a satisfying financial portfolio.
